European Respiratory Society (ERS) is the leading European professional organisation in the field of lung health. It is a non-profit organisation with over 30,000 members, which aims to develop awareness of lung health and respiratory medicine by organising congresses, seminars and educational meetings for the medical community in Europe, and publishing a wide range of journals and books for respiratory clinicians, scientists and other health professionals.

Job description:

Reporting to the Director of Publications, your primary role will be to redraw and illustrate basic and conceptual figures to a standard style for the Society’s journals and books, proactively liaising with copyeditors and authors to ensure quality and accuracy. You will also be involved in maintaining the publications’ websites using a CMS and basic HTML, and ensuring online adverts are hosted to clients’ requirements. Other duties will include ensuring the quality of figures redrawn by an external supplier; designing publication covers and layout templates; designing static adverts for online and print usage; manipulating files to output for online or print use; and ad hoc layout/typesetting of publications in InDesign.

The position is permanent and part-time (80%), based in the office in Sheffield. Due to the pandemic, home working is currently in operation, and when the office reopens a mix of home/office working is envisioned.
